There are many different fitness programs advertised on television every day. Some of these are actually very good for helping gain and maintain a strong healthy body, but there are others that can best be described as “gimmicks.”
If anything promises to give you the body of a bodybuilder or fitness model over night, then you should steer clear of it. It is not possible to make drastic changes over night and any program that makes promises to that effect are untrue. You cannot lose vast amounts of weight in a few days or reduce your waist measurements dramatically overnight. Even if you were to starve for a few days. It takes the right combination of nutrition and exercise.
Exercise alone will not do it because your efforts in the gym can be cancelled out by a trip to a fast food restaurant, where one might consume foods with excessive calories and increased trans fats.
Similarly decreasing your caloric intake alone will not yield the results you desire. First of all your metabolic rate will decrease because your body is in conservation mode. Secondly, you may look good to the scale, but you will lack muscle tone.
Find the right combination for YOU and stick to it.
